Using the computer multimedia auxiliary teaching. 课次 课时 安排 1 2学时 UNIT 1 Dreams 教学目的、要求(分掌握、熟悉、了解三个层次): (1)The students can understand and talk about the topic dreams; (2)Understand different questions concerning about dream (3)Show the students the pronunciation method of Liaisons. 教学重点及难点: Liaisons and Real World part 教学内容与教学组织设计(90分钟): 1. Introduction(15 minutes): (1)Lead-in(3 minutes): Each of us may have different dreams. Some of them are realized, some of them are still dreams. But I believe that dream is beautiful and at the beginning of our college life, I hope each of you can have new dreams. (2)Free discussion about dream ( 5 minutes) (3)Warm-up, ask some volunteers to stand up to give their own ideas about dreams(7 minutes) 2. Look and listen(15 minutes): (1)First please look at the pictures on the book, and guess what these dreams are. Then listen to the statements and fill in the blank with the words in the list. Pay attention to the verb and noun new words, and ask students write down them in order to have a good impression. Reference: airplane pilot, short-sighted, ambition, poor children, superstar, exciting, childhood, astronaut. (2) Ask and answer the questions, give students enough time to discuss and practice their spoken English.

Listen and watch(20 minutes): (1)Section one--listen to the pronunciation skills(5 minutes) First listen to the expressions and statements and put them down in the blanks. Show the radio to student that how the words and phrases' pronunciation.Learn about the Liaisons. Reference: come in, shut up, all over, stop it, good book, big dog, How about it? My name is Ellen. There are books on the desk. I looked for it here and there. (2) 连读:连读就是前一个单词的尾音与后一个单词的首音紧密连接在一起而形成的读音,英语中的连读主要有:(10 minutes ) 1)辅音加元音 相邻的两个词,前者以辅音因素结尾,后者以元音因素开头需连读 2)辅音加辅音 当英语中的6个爆破音的任何连个相邻是需连读,前者发不完全爆破音, 而后者需要完全爆破。 (3)Listen again and practice the pronunciation skills---liaisons.(5 minutes) 4. Section two---special English program(30 minutes): (1)Item 1 “I have a dream” program (15 minutes) 1)First give some background information about this topic and lead the students to this material. 2)Learn some new words about this passage: Eugene Lang, urge, extremely 3) Learn the main structure of this passage: 4) Listen for the text in detail. 5) show the listening materials and the transcript after students have their own answers. Pay attention to the social work in USA. (2)Item 2 The American Dream(15 minutes)

1)First give some background information about this topic and lead the students talk freely about it, 2)Learn some new words about this passage: Carry out, immigrant, Jame Truslow Adams, epic 3) Learn the main structure of this passage: 4) Listen for the text in detail 5) show the listening materials and the transcript after students have their own answers. Pay attention to the origin of American dream and that famous history book The Epic of America. 5. Summary(10 minutes): Remember the difficult words that appeared in the videos and let students recall the topic dream. Assignment : Ask the students to talk the topic dream after class. Summary: Dream exists everywhere and anytime in our life.
