The simplest way of putting an idea down on paper is to draw a picture. That was__1__ men first began to write, six thousand years ago or more. Most people think that the older you get, the harder it is to learn a new language. That is because they believe that children learn more easily and efficiently than adults. Many a young person tells me that he wants to be a writer. I always encourage such people, but I also explain that there’s a big difference between “being a writer” and writing.
