Lesson 2 Concept Security System Preferences
Objectives: After completing this lesson, the learner will be able to: Log in to the Concept security system. Create a new user and assign rights. Protect a Program or a DFB Apply the available 21CFR11 System Security features Set up Concept system preferences as desired.
Lesson Overview: Concept provides a security system to control the level of access that users have to the various portions of the tool. The security system can also be used to protect a program or a created derived function block. Concept 2.6 also provides to Quantum new System Security features to allow for 21CFR11 part 11 compliance requirements. This lesson will discuss the use and implementation of these features. This lesson will also discuss system preferences that can be set by the user to change the way that some portions of the Software behave.

Disable all writes from NOEs/NOMs - Resulting limitationsProduct/Feature NOM DIO Restrictions If “Disable all writes from NOE/NOMs” is selected, I/O Scanning will not work, since part of this feature is to write DATA to the PLC. If “Disable all writes from NOE/NOMs” is selected, the PeerCop functionality through the NOM does not work. Identical to DIO If “Disable all writes from NOE/NOMs” is selected, all MSTR read messages will not work since this features requires the NOM to write DATA over the backplane into the PLC. Only write messages from the PLC are supported.

Disable all writes from CPU Modbus Ports - Resulting limitationsProduct/Feature Quantum Xmit CPU MB XXMIT, port RTXMIT block Modbus responses Restrictions If “Disable all
writes from CPU Modbus Ports” is selected, the XMIT block cannot execute the Read instruction since this instruction will write DATA into the PLC memory. If “disable all writes from CPU Modbus Ports” is selected, the CPU port will not execute any write requests through the CPU port. On the other hand it will respond to all read requests.
