CCLL students can have access to a variety of associations, community

activities, e.g., the Students Union (including the Foreign Students Section),

Graduate Students Union, the May-fourth Literature Club, Kunshan Opera

Club, Nanshan Poetry Club, the gu qin (an ancient Chinese musical instrument)

club of Breeze in Pines , Folklore Club, Journalism and Communications

Club, Magic Club, to name just a few. Among them, Challenging the

Chairman sponsored by the Students Union, PhD Forum by the Gradu-

ate Students Union, Poem Recital by the May-fourth Literature Club,

Classical Poetry Singing and Recital by Nanshan Poetry Club, Festivity

Sports contest

The CCLL is a college of great liveliness and vitality, as well. Its students

are known for their active participation in the sports matches sponsored by

the university, e.g., the BNU Autumn Sports Meet, as well as the numerous

sports activities of smaller scale hosted by different classes, grades, the

Students Union and the Graduate Students Union. They have brought

home quite a number of prizes and awards, most noticeable of which are the

championships of the university football league for three consecutive years. !"#$CCLL football team

Overseas Exchange Programs

The College has established good exchange and cooperation relationships

with many overseas teaching and researching institutions. Since its foundation in

2004, about 150 people have visited, lectured, carried out research and attended

academic conferences in countries and regions like the US, Great Britain, France,

Germany, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan;

and it has hosted 35 international academic conferences and cultural exchanges,

receiving totally 110 scholars and experts from home and abroad.

The college, with the joint efforts of Sim University of Singapore, offers the

BA and MA degree curriculum in Chinese Language and Literature and so far,

they are well received in South-east Asia, contributing significantly to the

promotion of the exchange between Chinese and foreign cultures. To couple with

that, we have also co-established a Confucius Institute with Oklahoma University,

USA, and a Quebec Confucius Institute with University of Sherbrooke and
