Dawn Loggins of Lawndale, N．C. is on her way to Harvard, one of the eight world-famous universities in the eastern US. Nobody encouraged her to study or paid for her special classes. This girl created her own future.

The teen was abandoned by her family last summer, when her parents and two sisters moved to Tennessee. She found herself homeless and had to spend the night on friends' sofas.

Sometimes challenges do not appear to us because we keep away from them. So some parents and teachers actively encourage young people to face challenges. They might organize some activities for young people which provide them with challenges, like rock-climbing, camping, volunteer work and so on. However, just passing exams will not prepare a person for life. We must meet and overcome challenges. The young people of today will become the leaders of tomorrow. For countries to continue to become successful, it is important that the young people learn to meet challenges and overcome them.

On April 26, 2017, a big Chinese ship caught the eyes of the whole world. China's first homemade aircraft carrier (航空母舰) hit the water in Dalian, Liaoning. It is the largest and best ship China has ever built，reported China Daily.

The new ship is China's second aircraft carrier and it has no name yet. China's first carrier is called Liaoning, which was bought from Ukraine and later rebuilt by China.

The new carrier was designed in China and building began in 2013.The ship now must be completed at sea, which will take several years.

An aircraft carrier is like an airport on the sea. It can carry hundreds of planes and troops to wars. Planes fly from and land back on it, and soldiers work and live on it. Thanks to carriers, planes can fight along with warships(战舰). They allow planes to take off and land from anywhere in the ocean around the world.

But an aircraft carrier is very hard and expensive to build. It costs a lot of money and uses a large amount of steel(钢材) and other special materials. For example, a basic aircraft carrier is made of 60，000 tons of steel! It also uses complex(综合的) technologies, including radar(雷达), electrics, mechanics(机械学) and weapons. Finally, it takes years to build.

Today, not many countries own an aircraft carrier or have the ability to build one. When the new carrier is finished, China will become the seventh country in the world that can build an aircraft carrier by itself, after the US, Russia, UK, France, Italy and Spain，reported China Daily.
