Over the past two decades, our society has witnessed unprecedented changes in the overwhelming trend of globalization. What has globalization brought to us in the past two decades is uncertain. We can’t get a conclusion that globalization is good or bad. Now, people all over the world are talking about globalization, some people think that it is a good invention while others see its negative influence. Everything has two sides, globalization is not an exception.

First, in the terms of economic, promotion of liberal trade activities is perhaps the greatest achievement of globalization. Globalization is beneficial to rational allocation of resources and production factors. It is helpful to scientific and technological expansion throughout the world. Globalization promotes the economic development of underdeveloped areas. For customer, globalization gives us more choices and lower prices. We can buy the goods made in foreign countries without going abroad. It makes our life easier and more colorful. In one word, globalization gives the countries and people closer connection and more convenient life-style.

As for the political aspect, because of the effect of globalization, many international institutions have been established, such as the World Trade Organization, International Criminal Court and so on. Political

cooperations between countries become more closely.

Finally, how about cultural globalization? Globalization promotes cross-cultural contacts ,different countries’ civilization achievements are passed to all over the world. We share different cultural fruit and celebrate foreign festivals.Cultural globalization make us know different countries without going there.

But globalization is also a trouble maker. As a result of globalization, individual countries are losing their own customs, for example, many young Chinese pay more attention to western festivals such as the Christmas Day and the Valentine’s Day than Chinese traditional festivals. Globalization also puts the developing countries in a disadvantage position, developed countries take advantage of their technology and equipments to grab interest from developing countries. At the same time, they transfer heavy pollution to developing countries. What do the developing countries get in the world game? The answer is worse environment and less money.

What’s more, with the development of globalization, some worldwide problems appears such as global warming and Ozone hole.It gives us grim challenges which requires to take strong measures in face of these problems.

We have our own answers through the above discussion, we can’t say the globalization is welcome or not exactly because of the opportunities and

challenges it brings in the same time. We should have a thorough knowledge of the globalization and take the most use of it.
