Goals and Objectives

? This course deals with the basic knowledge required for the quality inspection process in

a company. ? Starting with the QM master data, the areas of quality planning, quality inspection (results

recording, defects recording, inspection completion), and evaluations using the QM Information System are covered.

Course Structure and Flow

The QM inspection process is identical wherever it is used in the logistics supply chain. After planning, the quality inspection is performed. At this point, inspection results and defects can be recorded. The inspection is completed with the inspection completion and the data can then be evaluated using the QM Information System.

The course is structured so that after an introductory unit, QM master data (unit 3) and

inspection planning (unit 4) are covered in detail. 60% of the course time is needed for these units.

Unit 2: Inspection Lot

The participants should receive an overview of the general processes in a quality inspection. QM-specific terms and a short summary of the inspection process within the logistics supply chain are also included in this unit.

Unit 3: Master Data

The basics for inspection planning are covered in this unit. This includes the material master, sample determination, catalog data, inspection characteristics, and inspection methods.

Unit 4: Inspection Planning

The QM master data forms the basis for inspection planning. Starting from simple inspection plans, the structure of the inspection plan is explained. Optimization of inspection planning and the use of engineering change management complete this unit.

Unit 5: Results Recording

The single steps for results recording are explained. In addition to results recording for single inspection lots, participants learn how to record results for all inspection lots.

Unit 6: Defects Recording

You can use defects recording to determine the properties of a material or product. In this unit, the prerequisites and processes of defects recording are covered.

Unit 7: Usage Decision

The quality inspection is completed with the usage decision. This unit covers the prerequisites

for inspection completion and the consequences and effects of the usage decision.

Unit 8: Evaluations

Standard evaluations are dealt with, for example, the material analysis, vendor analysis, and

results history. Evaluation using BW is also briefly covered.

Unit 9: mySAP Workplace

This unit provides a general basis for working with the mySAP Workplace. It includes an explanation of the role concept and introduces the QM composite roles for the workplace.

Quality Management (QM)

Explain the structure of the QM curriculum. The LO170 gives an overview of the general processes in QM using examples from the logistics supply chain. In the LO705, the master data for quality inspections is covered in detail. No complete processes from the logistics supply chain are covered in this course. The courses LO715, LO720, LO721, and LO725 cover the processes in

detail. The LO710 covers the use of quality notifications for problems within the process chain and internal problems. The QM training curriculum is completed by the LO750, which deals with user exists, interfaces, and customer enhancements. At this point, it should be mentioned that basic knowledge of ABAP is required for the LO750. The emphasis in the LO750 is not on Customizing.

QM Inspection Process

A specific event generally starts the QM inspection process. The inspection lot can be automatically created from the process or manually created.

Sample determination is a required step in the rest of the inspection process. Sample determination defines which quantity is required from a population for inspection. The simplest case of inspection processing is defects

recording. This means that if no defects are determined in a sample quantity, the inspection can be completed with the usage decision. As a result, results and defects recording are required for inspection completion. After the usage decision is made, the data is updated for statistics and evaluations can be made.
