Teaching aims:

1. Students will be able to discuss their preferences.

2. Students will be able to make comparisons about stores or other things.

3. Practice students’ listening skill.

Emotional aims:

Ss will learn to share their preferences to each other..

Teaching important points:

1. Ss can use the comparative and superlative to discuss their preferences..

2. Ss can make comparisons about stores.

Teaching difficult points:

Students can use comparative and superlative forms correctly.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Warming up and review.

1. review .

2. Show the pictures, and say about the things using comparative and superlative forms Step 2 Words Presentation

Learn the new words.

Step 3. Work on 1a.

1. How do you choose which movie theater to go to? Write the things in the box under “Important” or “Unimportant”.

2. Ss discuss with their partners and write the words in the box in the chart. Step 4 Target language Presentation

Show the pictures and learn the language.

Step 5 Work on 1b.

1. Read the instructions.

2. Point to the chart. Explain the meaning of any phrases students don’t know.

3. Point to the list of Movie theaters in the instructions and the blank lines under the Movie theater heading.

4. Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.

5. Play again. Ask students to write the names of each movie theater on the blank line.

6. Check the answers.

Step 6 Pair work.

1.Ask students to look at the pictures in activity 1a. Then ask students to read the sample conversations in activity 1c.

2. Ask students to read the instructions to the class .

3. Ask students to work in pairs and make their own conversations about the movie theater in the picture.

5. Ask some pairs to present one or more of their conversations to the class.

Step 7 Summarize -- superlative forms

Step 8 Homework

1 Remember the vocabulary and the target language.

2 Review the superlative degree of adjectives.
